Why it's an awesome adventure?

“The greatest change we need is from consumption to production, even if on a small scale, in our own gardens.” Bill Mollision

We have transformed a forgotten backyard right in Changi Village which was an underutilised green space into a productive edible landscape. Permaculture (short for “permanent culture”) is in the context of gardening or farming, a sustainable and regenerative approach that creates abundance over time. With this approach, we harvest on-site resources like water, food “waste”, organic material etc, to create fertility and enable you to harvest a yield, even on degraded and waterlogged soil.

We hope to empower our participants with an experience that will kickstart their own inquiry journey of “Why grow your food?” A food garden offers numerous benefits to individvuals and the environment. Beyond the ability to harvest your own chemical-free, high quality food, food gardens achieve an ecological balance and become new habitats for biodiversity when designed to mimic our natural, native environment. Growing your own food also cultivates a connection to land and offers a calming respite from all the concrete, glass and steel that is all too prevelant.

This workshop will provide our participants a good introduction in Soil Management, Growing organic vegetable, Sowing / Transplanting, Maintenance & Harvesting vegetables. So, be prepared to be blown away by the variety of our native edibles and superfoods you never knew existed and learn how easily it is to farm sustainably using permaculture in Singapore!

What a wonderful surprise of sight and taste

We were shown around the farm, encouraged to talk and taste of what we saw. Afterwards we had our own hands-on vegan meal experience. The Nasi Ulam is both tasty and I must say the prettiest thing I have had. All from the farm to the table; all artfully presented to captivate our eyes and our taste buds. Even if you’re not a vegan, but you love being pleasantly surprised this is worth the trip, and if you’re an vegan expect a plethora of taste and textures introduced to your taste buds. You won’t be disappointed.

Special Experience

What a special experience, thoughtful and most importantly delicious end to the program. We learned about organic farming and the possibility of making food choices. The 45 mins drive from home was well worth it. I couldn’t think of a better way to experience to spend the day with my family. And thanks for the extra attention to the young ones.
